Psych 101 Student Feedback

I asked one of my Basic Psychology classes, on the day scheduled for our midterm exam, to "tell me how it's going for you: 'There's too much work' or 'The time in class is boring' or 'We should have less talking and more demonstrations' or 'I'm starting to see examples in my real life' or anything else you're thinking that relates to the course. Please do NOT sign your remarks; that way you can write whatever you want anonymously."

I then passed out 3x5 index cards and gave the students 5 minutes before the exam to write whatever they wanted to. The following is a complete list of all feedback received (I have not edited for grammar or spelling.):

The class itself is great. The demonstrations are very helpful & fun. Based on what you said at the beginning of the year, memory is not learning. You have a good system that works, but I don't have as much time as required to do the work to get the "A". Even if I don't pass this course, I don't regret taking it!!

I like the course. There is a lot of work assigned, but if you do it there is no reason (I can think of), why you shouldn't pass. I think the course is interesting. I deserve the grade I am getting.

I like the class. It is very informative. I can take things from the class that I can relate to my everyday life. This is actually a class where it is set up for you to learn the material, instead of just memorizing words.

Doing the work but it's so dame long, takes long time to do. PS: Can you give me [unreadable] course points so that it will maybe give me an A

It's a lot of reading, but I like the class. The games are fun and demos are entertaining & stick w/you.

It's a good course, its fun, its easy to understand sometimes but its to much reading and not enough reviewing.

I like the course a lot , and here are my personal pro's and con's:
pro's

con's
good atmosphere  heavy homework load
inspirational lessons  immediate quiz grading
fun demonstrations

I feel as though the class is sometimes hard to follow. However I have learned a lot from what I understood and began to realize things from my everyday life. I think the demostrations help; to explain more too.

This class is a challenge. Neither the less I love the class and I connected it with my real life. I connected mainly on my relationship of my girlfriend. The class isn't hard for me becaus funny I enjoy learning how these things work.

I like this class but I might not pass the test. I like the demonstrations.

Love the class. All demonstrations leave me learning new things outside of class. Worried about midterm, because I seem to have been memorizing the lesson for quiz's, which result in high scores to this point, but we'll see how it goes. Would not want to be in another psych class. Do you teach psych 2? [this note was signed]

I know that I'm not doing good in this class and your probably wondering why I dont drop the class. Well I cant because the class is so interesting and I get some of it but I cant take tests. My mind goes blank. Thats why a lot of people dont think I'm smart. But I know I am it just doesnt show all the time. Thanks!

Ive been doing most of the work and just in the last two weeks its all starting to make sense and come together. Kinda cool how it all works. More demos please.

class is great. good way of learning. The activities are different which makes the class more interesting. I have seen some examples in everyday life. Some of the work is difficult to find answers 2, but you have it layed out nicely where if you miss an answer its before the next answer you found. More Activities!

Well- although I do enjoy the course, I'm a little bit lazy when it comes to [white space left] But I'm learning that the examples are true to real life. I love demos. Do more! The chapters are so long though!

This is the best class I ever had, but I let myself get to far behind in the beginning so now I have no chance to pass but I still come to every class.

Lots of work. But its all good. Truthfully I haven't done all of I but I love the class. Your a very thought provoking teacher, and I would be comfortable saying your the best teacher I have ever had. Oh and the Demos are really great ... more please.

I am starting to see the big picture. Thank you for clearing up the difference between stimulus and response because that opened up everything. The Demo's are great.
